Real Salt Lake youngster Gil continuing rapid improvement

Real Salt Lake teenager Luis Gil is still improving rapidly and his game is going to new levels says coach Jason Kreis.

The 17-year old scored his first MLS goal with a superb finish from outside the area in just his fifth start of the season in the 3-0 win over New York Red Bulls on the weekend and Kreis has been impressed with how he has come along and expects him to kick on from here.

"Luis is a kid that has worked extremely hard for us now for a year and a half," Kreis said.

"He's done an extremely good job of keeping his head down and not listening to other people around him telling him that he should be playing all the time. But instead he's just improved his game, and improved his game and improved his game.

"Now he's ready for the moment. It was great to see him take advantage of it tonight," Kreis added.
