Real Mallorca coach Aguirre unhappy Veiga leaving for SPL: It'll weaken LaLiga

Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre is unhappy seeing Gabri Veiga leave LaLiga for the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ahli are meeting the €40m buyout clause in Veiga's Celta Vigo contract.

"It's a shame, of course I'm in line with (Carlo) Ancelotti, of course. It's not possible that we lose a value like Veiga because of zeros in the bank account. Of course, I'm in the twilight of my career and this guy is just beginning. Surely It was an irresistible offer, both for the club and for him, that solves your life," said Aguirre in the preview of Mallorca's visit to Granada.

"Something will have to be done," he added. "There is a lot of talk about 'fair play' but here you don't see it anywhere. Financial issues limit us a lot. Although it seems good to me. We cannot live with debts and be with the sword of Damocles all our lives with bankruptcy and such and such."

He continued: "The departures of these boys is weakening the leagues. This player (Veiga) what progression can he have in Arabia? I have been to those places and it is a minor football, obviously. They can have Cristiano, Neymar or whoever he wants, the soccer will continue to be less. Each one decides for their financial health, but we are going to miss him. Hopefully limits will be set, it would be great."
