Real Mallorca coach Aguirre on Copa semi stalemate: We go to Real Sociedad still alive

Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre is confident their Copa del Rey hopes are alive after their 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.

The first-leg of the semifinal on the island finished 0-0 on Tuesday night.

Aguirre said: "Our approach was good, even. In the second half they believed in it more. We are not a team that slows down the game or makes it dirty. Playing the 90 minutes like we did in the first half would have been more fun for the people.

"We will go to Anoeta with the label of victim.

"In the second half they were much superior and we could have lost the game. We leave with the hope intact, in football you cannot take anything for granted. It is not easy to stand up to them in 180 minutes, they play in the Champions League, against PSG...

"I understand Imanol (Alguacil, Real Sociedad coach), because he is a football player, no one can be considered dead. Until the referee whistles for the second leg we have options.

"In Anoeta we will not be favourites nor were we favourites here. We will suffer, for sure. But in football nothing is written. They do well not to give us up for dead. In hope we will have to be fifty to fifty."
