Real Mallorca clinch impressive victory over Levante

Real Mallorca's survival hopes remain alive after their 2-0 defeat of Levante on Thursday.

Alejandro Pozo and Cucho Hernandez combined to open the scoring five minutes before half time as the former set the latter up to finish.

The hosts netted their second to effectively clinch the victory in the closing stages, with Takefusa Kubo prodding a loose ball past Aitor Fernandez.

The reactions on pitch and the Mallorca bench to that second goal underlined what an important win this was in the relegation battle.

With it, Mallorca pulled to within three points of safety after Eibar drew 0-0 with Leganes in a simultaneous kick-off.

As for Levante, they sit comfortably enough 12th in the LaLiga Santander table.
