Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has put Tottenham on alert for the January market.
The Dutchman came close to joining Spurs in the summer and remains a target for manager Harry Redknapp. West Ham United are also keen.
"You've seen the past six years how I play. January is a good moment to look around. If there is anything more, I can always take a look," said the former Manchester United striker.
"My contract ends after this season, so if I can play on, I will."
