Real Madrid's Higuain: We didn't want to humiliate Barcelona

Real Madrid goal scorer Gonzalo Higuain insists they weren't seeking to humiliate Barcelona during last night's 4-1 victory.

The young Argentine said: "I am very proud of the team because although we won the Liga title in Osasuna, in the El Clasico we did not relax, even though the championship was already decided.

"Four goals aren't the best thing for Barcelona, we did not want to humiliate them."

Real left-back Marcelo also said: "It has been the best game of my career, for being in the El Clasico and also in the Bernabeu. Ever since I arrived I dreamed about something like this, to be champion and then achieve a great triumph against Barca three days later."
