Real Madrid winger Takefusa Kubo leaving Villarreal for Getafe

Real Madrid winger Takefusa Kubo is leaving Villarreal for Getafe.

The Japanese international hasn't featured regularly under Unai Emery at the Estadio de la Ceramica, playing 700 minutes, starting seven games and scoring one goal in the first half of the season.

According to Onda Cero, Real Madrid haven given the green light for Kubo to move from Villarreal to Getafe for the rest of the campaign.

There had been a stumbling block over the 2.5 million euro loan fee initially paid by Villarreal to Real Madrid.

Villarreal wanted to recover half of that amount if Kubo were to leave in January. Getafe president Angel Torres has agreed to pay the Yellow Submarine bonuses depending on how the forward does during the rest of the season.

Kubo could become a Getafe player as soon as Monday, which is when he is expected to make the trip to Madrid to finalise the move.
