Real Madrid wing-back Marcelo has matched the appearances record of Emilio Butragueno.

He was in the starting line-up in the win over Villarreal which saw him reach 341 appearances, the same number made by Real Madrid's current Director of Institutional Relations.

They now sit joint sixteenth on the club's all-time leading appearance makers in the league.

In his thirteenth season with the club, having won four LaLiga titles, Marcelo enjoys a record of 238 wins, 53 draws and 50 defeats. The left-back also boasts the most LaLiga wins of any foreign player in Real Madrid history, while he's also netted 25 goals in the domestic championship.
