Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo was proud of his hat-trick in victory over Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo scored his seventh hat-trick of the season as Real went four points clear of second-place Barcelona.

Ronaldo said: "We knew the match would be complicated. Atletico played well and were strong. I'm happy for scoring and assisting. I'm grateful to my teammates because I wouldn't be able to score or play my game without them.

"We were a little tense because Barcelona won yesterday and we were forced to win, so mission accomplished. We have to win our remaining games to increase our chances of winning the title.

"The team is in good form, confident and ready for its next game. I've been one booking short of a suspension for two months, but I'm behaving myself."
