Real Madrid signing Alvaro Morata: Juventus made me better

Real Madrid signing Alvaro Morata says his time with Juventus made him a better player.

Morata left Juve for Real Madrid last week.

“I am very pleased to hear all the nice things my Juventus teammates said about me," he said.

“They helped me out so much and made me a better player. I am sorry for the fans who were upset that I left, I know they would prefer that I stay, but I have to look forward.

“My ex-teammates all gave me a big hand and I will always be grateful to them, because they helped me so much.

“For a striker it is very difficult to play in Italy, so being at Juventus really helped me tactically a great deal too.

“In tactical terms, Italy are one of the best teams in the world. If they were to score first, it'd be very difficult for us to get back into the game, but we mustn't focus only on that. It won't be easy, but we think we can win.

“If I play tomorrow, then it will probably be the most important match of my career thus far. It is a pleasure to play in a game like this and I don't feel pressure because I am representing Spain and all my teammates help me relax. I hope it goes well."
