Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has offered the Castilla job to Zinedine Zidane.

Punto Pelota says Zidane has informed Perez he has no long-term interest in being coach Carlo Ancelotti's No2 and wants to launch his senior career as soon as he can.

Perez is desperate not to lose the Frenchman and has now offered him the Castilla post following their relegation to Segunda B.

Zidane is yet to accept the offer, but Perez is banking on his enthusiasm of working and developing young players to persuade him to stay and take charge of the second team next season.
