Real Madrid president Florentino Perez sees former captain Raul as his next 'Zidane project'.

Raul is currently taking his UEFA badges ahead of returning to Real to take up a first coaching role in the youth system.

AS says Florentino has a plan mapped out for Raul to follow a similar path to how Zinedine Zidane developed as a coach through Real.

Crucially after a year of weighing up the pros and cons, Raul has decided to attack a coaching career with all he has. In June 2017, he said: "I want to be a coach, but I have not felt it yet..."

But now he knows Florentino has plans for him to follow the same path as Zidane to develop his coaching with the view to taking charge of the first team.
