Real Madrid president Florentino targets Man Utd star Rooney for 2012

Real Madrid will make a new assault on Manchester United for striker Wayne Rooney next year.

Having prised Cristiano Ronaldo away over two years ago, Real president Florentino Perez is now putting a package together to convince United to sell Rooney.

El Economista says Florentino is working with Real coach Jose Mourinho to bring Rooney to Madrid.

Mourinho is a huge fan of Rooney's and has made it no secret he would love to work with the England ace.

Should Real fail in their shock bid, they are expected to then revive their long-term interest in Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.

wheres this crap from? its a known fact that AGUERO WANTED TO JOIN REAL AND NOT THE MERCENARIES AT CITEH but Atletico wouldnt allow it.He'd jump at the chance to go back to Spain as would Silva-but Arguero to Real is more of a REALITY THAN rooney

Everyone seems to be forgetting that ferguson is the most respected manager in the world. If he thinks we need rooney he will keep him if not we will still get top dollar if he leaves.I personally do not think ferguson wants a repeat of 6-1 so he will not sell our best player as we do not have a like-for-like replacement for him.Besides the RM fans are laughable they think they will get him by paying big money.Develop your own talent. You also forget it is difficult to price an englishman to spain-only david beckham went there due to the spat with fergie.Owen went to RM at a similar age and from being one of the world's best strikers is now a shadow of his former self.United players flop at RM except ronaldo and beckham(some extent).Look at van nistelrooy and heinze. What if rooney does not want to go there(He prefers Barcelona(known fact))?
