The future of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid remains in doubt.

The Wales captain has put a summer of turmoil behind him to kickoff the season in superb goalscoring form. But his status at Real is again clouded.

El Confidencial says Real president Florentino Perez wants to raise €80m from sales in January - with Bale the most likely to be cashed in.

James Rodriguez, Mariano Diaz, Isco and Lucas Vázquez are also mentioned as potential winter sales.

In Bale's case, Florentino will demand top price. The president blocked a move to Jiangsu Suning over the summer with the Chinese offer falling short of his valuation.
