Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has held crisis talks with coach Santiago Solari.

El Chiringuito de Jugones reports Florentino and Solari met at a Madrid restaurant to pick over their dismal defeat at home on Sunday to Girona.

A source revealed: "There was a dinner that started at 9pm and ended around 11:10pm in the evening, two hours and ten minutes of meeting in a restaurant in Madrid.

"The two diners were Florentino Pérez and Santiago Solari. A face-to-face meeting, president-coach. After the defeat of Real Madrid in Girona."

The defeat was the prime reason for Florentino to call the summit, with Champions League qualification remaining in the balance.
