Real Madrid president Calderon "optimistic but cautious" on title

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon insists there's no reason to panic after their lead was cut to five points on the weekend.

"We have a significant margin of five points. We had a lead of nine points and now it's five, but that's fine because we surely will increase our lead again," said Calderon.

"I know coach (Bernd) Schuster wasn't happy with the result on Saturday (against Real Betis), but the players weren't also because they're all winners and very proud.

"Arjen Robben missed a great chance, but he is a magnificent player and only lacks some match fitness.

"At this point, I am satisfied - and cautious. We have a reason to be reasonably optimistic, before we were very optimistic as we were nine points ahead, and now we're optimistic."
