Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda says new signing Julien Faubert was a request from coach Juande Ramos. Faubert has joined Real on-loan from West Ham United and Boluda said: "He's a great footballer and will be a great help.

"Juande Ramos wanted a player for that position and it did not seem easy to find one in the market, but in the end we succeeded.

"He is a French international and we will have to wait for see his performance."
