Real Madrid No2 Clement rules out Newcastle move

Real Madrid No2 Paul Clement won't be applying for the Newcastle United job.

The 43-year-old Englishman - Carlo Ancelotti's No 2 at the Bernabeu since 2013 - was thought to be among those being considered by United's hierarchy in their search for Alan Pardew's successor.

But Clement wants to stay with the reigning European champions.

"Newcastle are a fantastic football club and I'm very flattered to be linked with them, as well as other great clubs in England," he told talkSPORT.

"But I'm enjoying my experience in Madrid and I think it's best for me to stay here in the near future, to gain more experience working with these great players at this great club.

"I'd very much like to come home at some point and try to cut my cloth as a manager."
