Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni admits losing Sunday's World Cup final with France is tough to take.

The France international has released a short message as he takes a break this week after his Qatar 2022 campaign.

"It will take time to digest this bitterness and frustration," said Tchouameni.

"We have tried everything. I took responsibility, it didn't work and I'm the first to regret it."

But he also said: "I am convinced that the future of the French team is bright, especially if we can count on you."
