Real Madrid medical chiefs are urging Karim Benzema to forget about playing in the World Cup.

There's been suggestions Benzema has fully recovered from a thigh injury and is ready to join France's World Cup squad.

Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps has played down the claims and Defensa Central reports Real medical chiefs have told Benzema to drop any idea of playing in Qatar.

"It's a crazy idea," said a club source.

It's suggested Benzema must "get the idea out of his head, focus on deadlines and prepare for the LaLiga return".
