Real Madrid medical chief Pedro Luis Ripoll says Thibaut Courtois' new knee injury isn't related to the one suffered in preseason.
Courtois left training in tears yesterday at Valdebebas. And subsequent tests confirmed a tear of the internal meniscus of the right knee.
The Belgian had only just recovered from ACL surgery seven months ago to his other knee.
Ripoll, the traumatologist at Ripoll and De Prado SportClínic, FIFA Centre of Excellence, rules out that the Real Madrid goalkeeper's new injury is related to the one he suffered in August in the other knee. He also is clear that it does not compromise his playing future.
"The injury is accidental and does not jeopardise the final result of his return to the playing fields," he said.
