Former Real Madrid striker Santillana has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo overtook Raul's goalscoring record at Real Madrid this week.

Santillana declared: "What Cristiano has achieved in Madrid in these years took us 16 seasons in my era, it is unthinkable that in my time there was a player who did what Cristiano has.

"He is a mystery, a man whom God has given physical and incredible technical conditions.

"He is the best striker in the world. As a fight between players, Lionel Messi must be the best, but as a striker there's no equal. He scores goals right, left, with his head, penalty ... he has it all and is a physical marvel."
