Real Madrid hero Zinedine Zidane is being linked with the coaching job at Standard Liege.

The former World Cup winner has held talks with Standard directors about succeeding Michel Preud'homme, who has left for Ghent.

Another ex-France star, Jean-Pierre Papin, could join as Zidane's assistant coach.

Interestingly, Real have been sounding out Belgian clubs this year about a partnership arrangement, which would see them 'park' their best young players at the chosen club to gain experience.
