Manchester United have been given permission to open talks with Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria. The Daily Star says Real have reportedly told Di Maria he is free to fly to Manchester and discuss terms with United and they will not stand in his way - as long as Louis van Gaal pays their £50m asking price.
United are understood to be happy with that fee and have set aside £100m to make the deal happen.
As well as the £50m transfer fee, the 20-times champions of England have put a further £50m aside for the Argentine's five-year contract, agent costs and signing on fees.
