Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano insists Cristiano Ronaldo is not fit to play for Portugal in their World Cup playoff against Bosnia. Ronaldo was selected in Carlos Queiroz's squad yesterday, despite him carrying an ankle injury.
"The player is low. Our doctors have opened the doors of the club to Portugal to come and check the status of the player. Anyway, this Monday we will send all the reports. I think the player needs peace because we are all pushing up his anxiety.
"We must remember that to defend Portugal he was re-injured, so he is far from being an uncommitted player. Perhaps too much commitment put us in this situation. Repeating mistakes can be far more serious."
