Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has offered coach Jose Mourinho a public olive branch.
After several weeks of trading barbs through the press, Valdano declared Mourinho was the only coach capable of overhauling eternal rivals Barcelona.
"We are competing against the best ever Barca. To manage this we need a coach - like the one we have today," declared Valdano.
"Barça is living a dream but Real Madrid wants and must do battle. It's not in our genes to lose."
