Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano denied they lost to Sevilla yesterday because of the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo failed to make the travelling party due to an ankle injury, but Valdano insisted: "We win and lose together, it is not decent to talk about the absentees.
"It is worth noting the fighting spirit shown by the team until the end, although there is still the obvious lack of coordination, but it will eventually be corrected.
"The team until the last minute was looking for the win."
