Real Madrid fullback Carvajal: Valencia couldn't live with us after break

Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal felt they swept away Valencia in the second-half yesterday.

Carvajal opened the scoring in the 5-1 win.

He later said: We feel very good. We wanted to go into the international break with a win at home. We couldn't win against Rayo and we have got rid of that thorn in our side. I'm also happy about the goal and the fact that I was able to contribute to the team. Now we can go into the break having done our homework."

"It was a very complete game. The team played beautifully and it was one of those great nights here at the Bernabéu. We wanted to do well in front of our fans. They had a couple of chances in the first half to equalise, but our start after the break was fantastic.

"I think the game was very even until the 50th minute, when we scored two goals in a row. Hugo Duro had a couple of chances in the first half and that start after the break put the wind in our sails."

Vini Jr and Rodrygo both scored twice and Carvajal added: "They are both very good. Two goals each. It's good for us that they're scoring goals again and that they're feeling positive again. They'll bring a lot to the table. We already know the quality they have and we're happy for them. They'll be very important for the outcome of the season."
