Real Madrid have formally denied claims of any rift between coach Zinedine Zidane and Dani Ceballos.

Zidane threw the midfielder on in victory over Leganes - for 29 seconds.

The message from the club is that Zidane couldn't possibly have wanted to mess with Ceballos, having once upon a time been in his shoes.

"Zidane was a player and would never put a player on for around 30 seconds to mess with him," the club have explained.

It was a poorly thought-out decision, nothing more.
