Real Madrid defender Ramos confirms Ancelotti crisis meeting

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos insists there was nothing special about Monday's crisis talks.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti met with his underperforming squad for 50 minutes after the weekend's derby defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Ramos said: “There’s no need to attach more importance to it than it has. I remember that these things happened back in the days of Santillana, Juanito, Camacho. Holding a meeting is completely normal and the conclusions are always positive.

"We don’t talk about it because it’s part of an internal system between players and coaches. We’ve also had meetings when things were going well and now it comes out that we’re experiencing a crisis, so to speak. It’s always good to talk and say things face to face. The purpose of the meetings isn’t important, but its effectiveness is. We have to come together and always reach positive conclusions."
