Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is on the brink of reaching a landmark with Spain.
Ramos currently has 99 caps for his country but looks certain to reach three figures in the next week with Spain facing Finland on Friday and France the following Tuesday in a key World Cup qualifying double-header.
He said in AS: "It will be something to enjoy on a personal level. I hope I can enter into the history books of Spanish football. For me it's something to be proud of and a very big personal challenge.
"I've been in the national team for a long time and I'm proud of that. Hopefully I can say in the future that I've played many more games than 100."
