Real Madrid defender Pepe has been impressed by new teammate Raphael Varane.

Varane is winning plaudits from across Europe.

"He's an incredibly humble guy with tremendous skill," said Pepe.

"I had the chance to tell him at the beginning of the season that, in my opinion, in a few years he's going to be one of the best central defenders in the world. If he maintains the same humility and eagerness to learn every day he's going to make it. I think he's doing really well. He's loads of help in the matches and he's progressed really quickly. This is all in his favour because he's a central defender with a lot of skill."
