Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic didn't shy away from criticising the performance in last night's 4-0 thrashing at Liverpool.

Mijatovic said: "It's a very sad, very painful result. Once again we have not reached the quarterfinals. Liverpool was very good in the first leg and again tonight.

"We have not been in the game from the first minute to the 90th. We were out of place and disorganised. It is a very painful defeat.

"We must be concerned because we have offered a very poor image of the club."
