Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has told club chiefs to drop their plans of signing a new centre-half.
Real are sending out feelers to potential defensive transfer targets, including Juventus hero Leonardo Bonucci.
However, Diario Gol says Ramos has told Real president Florentino Perez there is no need to replace the departing Pepe.
Ramos rates Raphael Varane as his ideal defensive partner and believes Nacho and Jesus Vallejo, fresh from his loan with Eintracht Frankfurt, are capable back-ups.
The captain's opinion is shared by coach Zinedine Zidane, who also believes there's no reason to add to his defensive ranks this summer.
