The Barcelona midfielder was beaten by Lionel Messi for the gong.
"Messi is a player from another world but I feel sorry for (Wesley) Sneijder, Cristiano (Ronaldo), (Iker) Casillas, (Andres) Iniesta and Xavi, who is a guy I knew as a child and deserves to win one in his career," said Mourinho.
