Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Liverpool fullback Glen Johnson.

Marca says Real coach Jose Mourinho has instructed advisers to find him a new right-sided wing-back in the class of his former Inter Milan star Douglas Maicon.

Mourinho has doubts over the options of the right-side of his midfield and defence and wants a world class signing to solve the problem.

Mourinho knows Johnson from their time together at Chelsea and regards the England international highly. While primarily a right-back, Johnson can also play further forward and fits the requirements Mou has set out for super agent Gines Carvajal to find for him.
