Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with Lucas Silva's performance for their 2-0 Champions League win at Schalke.
It was the former Cruzeiro midfielder's first start for Real.
Ancelotti said: "I went with him because he had fresher legs, having barely played on Sunday.
"His fitness has improved. He imposed order and showed his personality on the pitch. He kept things very simple and had good ideas. His personality has surprised me. It is not easy playing for Real Madrid for the first time at 22 years of age."
