Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr admits he learned plenty when working with former coach Zinedine Zidane.

Vini Jr was able to spend time with Zizou before the Frenchman's eventual departure.

He recalled to France Football: "Ah, Zizou... Casemiro and Marcelo spoke to me a lot about him, and very well. He is a reference for everyone. I didn't see him play much, I was very small, but there is YouTube. He played like few others and, as a coach, he helped me a lot, especially with the ability to come back and defend.

"He insisted a lot on participating in the collective effort and gave me the freedom to express my qualities. In Brazil they never asked me anything defensively, or barely. It changed me a lot.

"Zizou made me understand that the two things were not incompatible. He taught me a lot. And then I was the youngest!

"When others worked a little less, it was up to me to do it."
