Real Madrid have verbally struck terms with Gonzalo Higuain over a new contract.
Marca says Real have agreed a deal with Higuain's father and agent, Jorge, over a new six-year contract.
The agreement will see the Argentina international's salary rise from €2 million to €3.5 million plus bonuses based on appearances and success.
Jose Mourinho is understood to have demanded Real accelerate negotiations as he sees Higuain as a crucial part of his plans.
