Real Betis vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer has admitted the prospect of re-signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is unlikely.
Ceballos is keen in moving back to Seville.
But Serra Ferrer stated: "There was a very big interest from the coach in bringing him back to the club.
"We like him as a player, he has a lot of talent. Those of us in management and on the sporting staff would have liked him to remain for another season.
"With one more year at Betis, he would surely have been even better because everything he contributed here was very good.
"But the boy decided he wanted to go to Madrid. The coach even spoke with the player but unfortunately it can't happen."
