Real Betis vice-president Catalán demands Barcelona Champions League ban: It's the biggest scandal in Spanish football

Real Betis vice-president José Miguel López Catalán says Barcelona should be banned from Europe next season.

Barca, just crowned LaLiga champions, could be barred from the Champions League by UEFA over the Negreira Case.

Catalan insists Barca should be blocked by UEFA from next season's European competition.

He said on Canal Sur TV: "We are very concerned. What has happened during those 17 or 18 years is very serious.

"UEFA has entered with an investigation and we hope that in June they can draw some conclusions. We consider it quite probable that they can penalise Barça for a year without Europe.

"We are worried and angry. It is important that this is not forgotten. UEFA does have mechanisms and I am quite expectant as it is the biggest scandal in the history of Spanish football."
