Real Betis striker Perez insists no grudge against ex-Leicester manager Rodgers

Real Betis striker Ayoze Perez says he holds no grudge against former Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.

Perez left Leicester on-loan for Betis in January before Rodgers' dismissal.

He told AS: “I understand that the coach no longer had so much confidence in me. Things were slowly getting worse in terms of results, they were not going so well.

"Near the end of my second season (at Leicester City) I had a serious knee injury. There were many factors that complicated my situation. At times, the coach considered that I was not the best option to play.

"In your career you have moments like that, complicated, in which you don't play as much as you would like or don't perform as well as you would like. They are things that happen. It is not necessary to look for a culprit, but there are many factors that influence.

"It is true that this was a difficult part of my career and my career at Leicester City. I played very little, but these are things that happen in a player's career. Without a doubt, they are moments that, at the same time, make you reconsider, mentally stronger. It is part of learning and of the moment."
