Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias hails Joaquin after victory over Rayo: We've all told him not to retire

Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias paid tribute to Joaquin after victory over Rayo Vallecano.

Iglesias scored in the 3-1 win thanks to Joaquin's assist.

He later said: "I think it has been a very nice moment. Playing with Joaquín, I have always said, is a lot of enjoyment. He is a player who has the unique ability to see his teammates to make the best pass.

"I don't want him to leave, it's true. I think he deserves moments like this from here to the end because he's given us a lot. Imagine what he's given before I came to the club. The more we can enjoy it, the better, because he's very good and he continues to show it."

In the locker room they've asked Joaquín not to retire?

"I do, I tell him every day. He tells me that he's already made the decision, but I'm going to try to convince him between now and the end of the season. I don't think he'll change his mind, although... if he scores against Sevilla, he'll still be encouraged to renew!"
