Real Betis are eager to hand coach Manuel Pellegrini a new contract.
While his current deal runs to 2023, a buyout clause in the deal will fall dramatically next summer.
As such, the board wish to secure Pellegrini to a new agreement in the coming months.
Last week, Pellegrini said: "I am not worried at this moment about renewing my contract. I am happy at Betis, but my continuity depends on whether one is happy as a coach and what the institution does.
"It is not a priority issue at this time. I am happy and I have no intention or am looking for alternatives to go elsewhere."
