Real Betis coach Pellegrini happy with 4-goal Willian Jose for 12-1 Copa win

Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini admits he enjoyed their Copa del Rey win at Hernan Cortes.

Betis were outrageous 12-1 winners at the Spanish minnows.

Pellegrini said, “There is a lot of difference between the divisions, but it was a very nice game with the stadium almost full. For us it is important because it is a useful game.

“I think that to win the Cup we have to start the tournament with the seriousness that we gave it today. We cannot think about winning the Cup, but about taking our first step. With this attitude it is easier to move forward."

Willian José struck four goals and Pellegrini also said: “There are players who live by scoring goals and it is very good for Willian José to score. But we kept playing exactly the same and that was good."

He added: "The difference between the two teams indicates where one plays and where the other plays. They enjoyed this game, everyone won."
