Reading defender Alex Pearce is no closer to agreeing terms over a new contract.

Pearce's current deal expires in June and he's been linked with Liverpool.

Royals boss Brian McDermott said: "I'm sure his agent will have had offers from other clubs.

"We want him to stay, there's not much I can do."
