Reading striker Doyle shrugs off barren run

Reading striker Kevin Doyle has shrugged off his goals drought.

The Irishman told his club's website: "It's like that for a striker, it's happened to me before, you keep working hard. You keep plugging away, nobody has scored, which makes it worse.

"It's been said to me to not run around too much, save your energy for when you get your chances.

"Barren spells make you better, so when you score it means more, you want to work, be as good as you possibly can, not think it's all easy.

"The run is not bothering me, that's how it is, it's tough for all of us. We've got 12 games left to put things right."
