Reading captain Graham Murty insists manager Steve Coppell will turn results around.
"The most disappointing thing is we want to play good football and improve as a team. We changed things for one game and didn't do as well as we would have liked.
"It's upset us because we all believe we're good enough to play at this level but to blame the manager's tactics is wrong."
He added: "The manager demanded a response in the second half and I think we gave him one.
"We went back to doing what we're good at. We were strong in defence and we played football in Blackburn's half.
"We scored two goals and created a lot of chances against a very good team."
