Reading skipper Jobi McAnuff is delighted Jem Karacan has penned a new contract.

Highly-rated Royals midfielder Karacan, 23, this week signed a new three-year deal.

And McAnuff said: "In the three seasons, I've been here Jem has developed into a fine player.

"He broke his ankle last year but come back from that and now looks a good Premier League player."
