Reading have opened new contract talks with England U21 hero Leroy Lita.

The Mirror says the Royals want Lita to sign a four-year deal to give him parity with their top earners on about £15,000 a week.

Reading's director of football Nicky Hammond said: "We've had conversations with him and hope to move forward very soon."
